On the Florida State University Schools website, the teachers each have their own website pages. I looked at two website pages of the teachers I observed last semester. One of the sites belongs to a first grade teacher and the other is second grade. Public information that I see are pages like a welcome, about the teacher, homework newsletters, curriculum and lesson plans, field trips, their daily schedule, etc. By the information presented, parents can keep up with what is going on within their child's classroom. I can use technology in this same way that these teachers do in my future profession. I can have a site where my students' parents can check in and be aware of everything going on within my classroom. It is another way that they can get to know a little about me and my intentions with their children in my class. I can also use technology to accomplish my professional responsibilities by networking and connecting with others in my field who can help me get to where I need to be.
The Osmo Technology was one of my favorite pieces of technology in the Technology Sandbox. It allows children to code on the tablet without using the tablet alone. It allows for a different use of a tablet than just using the application. There are coding pieces that you lay in front of the iPad and the camera detects it and makes a move based on what you laid in front of it. This technology could be used in the classroom to introduce coding to the students as STEM continues to advance and become more prominent over time. It will be a good starting step for students to get into this field.
